Ever heard of StartLogic? No? Well, me neither until recently. As a matter of fact, my hosting account with StartLogic is only three months old and I’m still in process of testing their hosting features and server reliability. Nevertheless, I am pretty happy with what am I seeing so far and would introduce them to any who’re looking for a reliable budget hosting. To support my recommendation, here are a few plus points of StartLogic hosting services.
Unlimited domain in one hosting account
Just like many other hosting companies, StartLogic is now offering unlimited hosting capacity. With just $5.95/mo, users get unlimited disk storage, bandwidth, and addon domains in one hosting account. By taking advantage of this feature, you can now host all your websites in just one single hosting account.
vDeck Hosting
What interests me the most with StartLogic is that they are using vDeck as their control panel (while 80% of other web hosts had switched to cPanel). vDeck, now approaching its third edition, is a web control panel for managing a website that works more or less like cPanel. The rating for vDeck is average, some claims that vDeck serve non-techies better; while some report that vDeck 2.0 is buggy.
Personally, I don’t find vDeck much different from cPanel, except that it is less user-friendly but provides more indepth e-commerce features. The reason I’m listing vDeck as an advantage for StartLogic is because it offers something different from the rest. Thus just in case you’re not a cPanel fans and wish to try something new, StartLogic is the name.
Web Marketing Support
There’s no other web hosts as good as StartLogic in supporting their client’s web marketing work - the folks offer a 500+ pages web marketing guides, Keyword Generator software, $50 Google Adwords credit, $25 Yahoo Marketing credit, and RatePoint subscription for free. This series of addon service is extremely valuable and it would definitely give a kick start to your web traffics.
What’s not so good with StartLogic?
There’s series of Q&A session with StartLogic’s staffs on some presell and account activation issues. Yes, without doubt the staffs at StartLogic are friendly and very knowledgable but it take long hours for me to get a simple reply from them. Response time is slow and I have to delay my signup with Startlogic just because of that. Seeing such, I believe that there’s lot of rooms for StartLogic to improve in term of customer supports.
