Why IX Hosting is NOT recommended?
Slightly overpriced hosting cost
The same as you can get from HostMonster, BlueHost, Pow Web or Web Hosting Pad; IX Hosting offers unlimited disk storage, bandwidth transfer, and number of addon domain. In other words, you can host all your websites in just one single web hosting account. While at first sights IX Hosting seems like the same with others, however when you check their price, you’ll notice that they are charging $12.95/mo for the same package you’ll get at Hostmonster or Bluehost (which cost you $6.95/mo). Seeing this, I think IX Hosting is either they are not sensitive enough to the competition (and failed to react); or, they are simply over-charging their customers.
Hosting server with low reliability
Try search around the Internet about IX Hosting reviews. You’ll be surprise the amount of unhappy customers feedbacks you’ll get online! I can almost conclude that they are the kind of hosting you need to runaway from after reading the first 3 pages of my Google SERP. To save time, here’re some of the customer’s review I gathered from the Internet:
IX Hosting lost all my data!
“They lost all my data! According to their tech support, a power surge at their datacenter wiped out the Sql database running our on-line store. The power surge took out both the production and backup servers. Huh? Only a single backup? What happened to Ups protection, multiple/redundant backups, off-line storage and off-site storage? Seems like basic data protection to me… They tout reliability on their web site to no end — but at this point it seems like advertising hype, not reality. Hundreds and hundreds of man-hours down the tubes…” – June 30th, 2007 by Alan Engard (www.engard.biz) @ Web Hosting Stuff.I was tricked by IX Hosting!
"I was tricked into going with IX hosting by the low price and the numerous "review" sites which are simply hosting affiliates making money from everyone elses bad luck. SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, is the only way to describe it. You can have as many SQL Server databases as you want, but expect to share the server with hundreds of other users. Tech support is barely capable of creating complete sentences in English. Perhaps if you can speak Russian you’ll have better luck. I wish there was a way to know up front if a hosting company outsourced their support to Russia or India. Indian tech support is always WAY BETTER, and you don’t have to explain things 2 or 3 times before they know what the problem is. IX HOSTING SUCKS!!!" – June 19th, 2008 by John Andrew from Charlotte, NC @ WebHostingGeeks.IX Hosting Sucks!
"You see slow servers and crappy support is not the only thing you will find at ixwebhosting. You will also find terrible management who will block off your phone line if they think you are calling in too much. Yes… you did NOT misread that. I actually had my phone line cut off by ixwebhosting without any prior notice simply because… I was "calling in too much," and was "harassing the ixwebhosting support team!" This company sucks! Never use them! Its not worth being "cut off." Trust me!" – by Anonymous @ IX Hosting Sucks.

Final words on IX Hosting
Yes, it’s true that IX Hosting is well known in the past and they are offering unlimited hosting capacity and I’m not surprise to see positive IXWebHosting reviews at other web hosting review websites.
However, as the same features come with a price 50% cheaper nowadats, IX hosting plans do not look attractive to me at all. Overpriced service andbad reputation in supports – it doesn’t take long for me to sum up that IX Hosting is the kind of web host to be avoided. In case you’re looking for an affordable yet reliable hosting, check out my reviews on Hostgator, Bluehost, Lunarpages, WebHostingPad and FatCow.
