First of all, I have to tell you that I’m not a ‘real customer’ of GreenGeeks. I got a free demo account from the management and this evaluation is written solely based on my hosting experience with that account.

Green Hosting with lots of great features
Just like most shared hosting providers, Green Geeks provide all the features you need to host a small-to-medium website. Unlimited bandwidth and disk storage, one-click web apps installation supported with Fantastico, and a huge list of supported e-commerce features. Things seems pretty standard here with Green Geeks – which is a good thing as this means you can get whatever you got from other web host, in CLEAN energy.
300% Green Powered Hosting
At Green Geeks, all customer’s websites are 300% green – the company replaces, with wind power, 3 times the amount of energy consumed by their web servers. As mentioned, I was skeptical in the beginning but after checking on a recent certification (see below), I determined that the company just purchased over 2.3 million MW of clean, renewable energy in March 2009.
With that, there’s no doubt Green Geeks is the ‘green-est’ hosting in the market.
Is Green Geeks a reliable web host?
Unfortunately I can’t answer that question for you. Yes, my demo hosting account works perfectly well (which is a good sign) but it’s not the real hosting account. Then again, from the amount of positive reviews I read else where on the Internet, I believe they are doing pretty well.

Personally, I’m pretty comfortable with the provided hosting environment. From my (short) experience with their staffs, this hosting company is definitely equipped with the right personnel to get the job done. If you’re searching for an environment friendly web host and willing to test out some new brand in hosting industry – then yes, GreenGeeks is a go. After all, the company provide 30 days full money back guarantee – so there’s actually nothing much to lose.
